SkillsUSA
Each year SkillsUSA holds the National Leadership and Skills Conference where students compete for the national championship in their respective skill. In 2013, Andrew Kincaid won the national championship in the aviation maintenance technology competition.
Mission Statement: SkillsUSA empowers its members to become world-class workers, leaders and responsible American citizens. We improve the quality of our nation鈥檚 future skilled workforce through the development of SkillsUSA Framework skills that include personal, workplace and technical skills grounded in academics. Our vision is to produce the most highly skilled workforce in the world, providing every member the opportunity for career success.
The SkillsUSA Chapter also holds annual events like the Chili Cook Off fundraiser and the Michigan aviation maintenance state competition for high schools and post-secondary students.
