Addressing Concerns

Procedures for addressing concerns related to É«É«À² Study Abroad:

Admission/Acceptance Concern: É«É«À² Faculty-led Programs
  1. For É«É«À² faculty-led programs, discuss the concern with the faculty director of the program during regular office hours or through email correspondence.
  2. If not satisfied by the action taken by the faculty director, complete a Study Abroad Concern and Feedback Form and bring it to the appointment you schedule with the appropriate study abroad specialist.
  3. If not satisfied with the action taken by the study abroad specialist, make an appointment to meet with the Director of Study Abroad.
  4. If not satisfied with the action taken by the Director of Study Abroad, submit a Formal Student Complaint Form through the Office of the Ombudsman.

Admission/Acceptance Concern: É«É«À² Partner Programs

  1. For long-term study abroad programs with É«É«À² partner universities, discuss the concern with the appropriate study abroad area specialist during regular office hours or through email correspondence.
  2. If not satisfied by the action taken by the study abroad specialist, complete a Study Abroad Concern and Feedback Form and bring it to the appointment you schedule with the Director of Study Abroad.
  3. If not satisfied with the action taken by the Director of Study Abroad, submit a Formal Student Complaint Form through the Office of the Ombudsman..

Grade/Transcript Discrepancy Concern

  1. Complete a Study Abroad Concern and Feedback Form and bring it to the appointment you schedule with the appropriate study abroad specialist.
  2. If not satisfied with the action taken by the study abroad specialist, make an appointment to meet with the Director of Study Abroad.
  3. If not satisfied with the action taken by the Director of Study Abroad, submit a Formal Student Complaint Form through the Office of the Ombudsman.

Scholarship Awarded/Amount Concern

Note: The following only applies to scholarships awarded by É«É«À² Study Abroad (President’s Grant for Study Abroad, Global Engagement Scholarship, Haenicke Institute for Global Education Study Abroad Scholarship, the Jennifer C. Wenger Scholarship, the Bruce W. Mesara Study Abroad Airfare Scholarship).

  1. Contact the study abroad specialist for the program to communicate concern and request an explanation.
  2. If not satisfied by the action taken by the study abroad specialist, complete a Study Abroad Concern and Feedback Form and bring it to the appointment you schedule with the Director of Study Abroad.
  3. If not satisfied with the action taken by the Director of Study Abroad, submit a Formal Student Complaint Form through the Office of the Ombudsman.

Refund Policy Concern

  1. Review the refund policy online and in Broncos Abroad (see signature documents titled Statement of Responsibility and Fee and Refund Policy) that the student signed when applying to the program. If questions remain…
  2. Complete a Study Abroad Concern and Feedback Form and bring it to the appointment you schedule with the appropriate study abroad specialist.
  3. If not satisfied with the action taken by the study abroad specialist, make an appointment to meet with the Director of Study Abroad.
  4. If not satisfied with the action taken by the Director of Study Abroad, submit a Formal Student Complaint Form through the Office of the Ombudsman.

É«É«À² Faculty or Staff Concern about É«É«À² SA Personnel or Operations*

  1. Complete a Study Abroad Concern and Feedback Form and bring it to the appointment you schedule with the Director of Study Abroad.
  2. If not satisfied with the action taken by the Director of Study Abroad, submit a Formal Student Complaint Form through the Office of the Ombudsman.

*If faculty or staff wish to express concern about the director of Study Abroad, they should make an appointment to meet with the associate provost of HIGE or submit a Formal Student Complaint Form through the Office of the Ombudsman.

Partner Universities and Approved Third-Party Provider Concern

  1. Complete a Study Abroad Concern and Feedback Form and attach in an email to the Director of Study Abroad.
  2. If not satisfied with the action taken by the Director of Study Abroad, contact the associate provost of HIGE.
