As name, image and likeness (NIL) rules enter a new era in collegiate sports, ɫɫ�� football alumni are partnering with Bronco Athletics to set students up for success on and off the field.

ɫɫ�� rarely closes or delays classes, so always assume campuses are open. In the absence of notification via one of the methods listed below, all normal operations will continue as scheduled.

From child prodigy to business Bronco and beyond, Layla Wallace is growing her nearly 10-year-old bakery, learning to expand her community impact and even mentoring interns of her own.

In just two short years, the ɫɫ�� Google Developer Student Club (GDSC) is already increasing the opportunities for hands-on experience in innovative technology, complex computer development, and broad community impact at ɫɫ�� Michigan University’s College of Engineering and Applied Sciences.  

Five graduate and three undergraduate students from ɫɫ�� Michigan University’s aerospace engineering program attended the 38th International Electric Propulsion Conference in Toulouse, France. Over 700 attendees gathered to present their emerging research, discover career opportunities and hear from industry professionals, all while experiencing a new and enriching culture.

Revision Autonomy, founded and led by Broncos, is housed in the Business Technology Research Park on ɫɫ��’s Parkview Campus. This team focuses on enabling safe driving in adverse weather conditions and is driven by the vision of a future where Autonomous Vehicles can navigate confidently and securely, regardless of the weather challenges they encounter.

The Paper Pilot Plant, housed at ɫɫ�� Michigan University’s College of Engineering and Applied Sciences, provides an exciting opportunity for students who are involved at the ground level in the development of innovative products. One such product developed by Earthodic is a coating made with lignin—a byproduct of paper making—that provides water and grease resistance while still being recyclable. 

Nov. 15, 2024—Calling all ɫɫ�� student artists, writers and researchers! Submit your art and creative and research works to be featured in Waldo Library’s spring exhibit and Story Machine.

The Haenicke Institute for Global Education welcomes Dr. Brian Childs as its new senior director of International Student and Scholar Services. 

ɫɫ�� Jazz and the Irving S. Gilmore School of Music has been awarded a multi-year grant from the John Stites Jazz Artist Organization to support and enhance its Invitational Jazz Festival. The festival will now be known as the “ɫɫ�� Michigan University John Stites Jazz Festival.”

The grant from the Michigan Center for Adult College Success Innovation Investment Awards program will help more working-age adults obtain postsecondary degrees by focusing on recruiting and supporting individuals who still have Kalamazoo Promise funding available.

ɫɫ�� graduate student and government affairs employee, Cheng Kidd Sun, discusses his upbringing in Malaysia and his intrigue with U.S. politics. He will speak at the International Education Week panel, “Addressing International Conflict: Strategies for Effectively Managing Disputes" on Thursday, Nov. 21, at 5 p.m., in the Student Center, Room 2213.

Nov. 12, 2024—The University Libraries released three new digital collections and additions to three historical photograph collections.

Fourteen ɫɫ�� Michigan University students in the fall Sedimentation and Stratigraphy course are completing novel research on rock cores from Michigan as part of a much larger, ongoing study on carbon sequestration. This process involves capturing, concentrating and pumping carbon dioxide deep into the earth. 

Winnie Wilson, a counseling psychology doctorate student, has been awarded a grant by the Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan Foundation to study the impact of racial trauma on Black adolescents and inform clinicians of best practices to address these experiences.

Megan Garrett, who calls herself a “wanderlust child” and a “road trip kid,” chose ɫɫ�� because of its study abroad program. She will share her travel and education stories at International Education Week 2024: Internationalization on Campus and Beyond. 

Natasha Saiful Andree came to ɫɫ�� Michigan University to explore her Midwestern roots. Three years later, the aerospace engineering major is leading ɫɫ��’s Engineers Without Borders student chapter on an international mission to make the world better.

Join us at International Education Week 2024: Internationalization on Campus and Beyond. Several events are scheduled from November 18-22 to celebrate global diversity and promote cross-cultural understanding. All events are free and open to the public. 

Lyssa Wilson Becho, principal research associate at The Evaluation Center at ɫɫ�� Michigan University, has been honored with the prestigious Marcia Guttentag Promising New Evaluator Award by the American Evaluation Association (AEA).

Events planned on campus include an ecological discussion, musical performance and drum-making workshop among a number of other activities.

As a global learning leader, Douglas Johnson develops and implements best practices for high-impact training across global operations in his position at Eastman Chemical. To enhance his performance, he decided to pursue an MBA and a graduate certificate in business analytics at ɫɫ�� and is already making connections in his everyday responsibilities.

For senior sales and business marketing student, Dominic Reale, marketing is all about selling solutions. From Rockford, Michigan, the transfer student from Grand Rapids Community College (GRCC) has found his groove at the ɫɫ�� Michigan University Haworth College of Business, building both a strong community and future.

Nov. 5, 2024—University Libraries is making some improvements to Waldo Library’s second-floor rotunda.

Accounting is more than just numbers—and that is evident when you step into the classroom of Brittani Shantel Jackson. The assistant professor of accountancy at the Haworth College of Business is creatively connecting with students, leading to learning that extends far beyond the principles and practices of accounting. 

Graduate student Nilani Kariappa has a passion for human resources. The global emphasis in ɫɫ��'s MBA program is what ultimately led her to choose ɫɫ�� for her studies, where she is thriving thanks to impactful mentors and a supportive environment.
