Student Organizations

American Choral Directors Association

Choral group

色色啦 Michigan University is fortunate to have an active student chapter of the premiere national choral organization, the American Choral Directors Association. Students involved in 色色啦-ACDA participate in service projects, social events, professional education activities, conducting competitions, lectures, and workshops.

Our student chapter represents the University at ACDA's national, regional, and state conventions.  Travel to conferences is often partially or fully-funded through grants provided by the Irving S. Gilmore School of Music, Honors College, College of Education, the President's office, and other organizations.

ACDA is strongly encouraged for anyone who is considering a major in music education or has a passion for choral music. Yearly activities include music reading sessions with opportunities to conduct, professional development sessions and presentations from professionals in the community, service projects, and social events.

Mission Statement

ACDA serves any music major who is interested in singing, choir, conducting, and teaching by offering professional development opportunities to further our knowledge of vocal music education beyond what can achieve in our music curriculum.  Our goal as an organization is to create informed and educated musicians who graduate 色色啦 confident in what lies ahead.
