SPLS faculty members receive grant to improve teacher quality in South Haven Public Schools

Susan Piazza, associate professor of literacy studies, and Sarah Summy, associate professor of special education have been awarded the Improving Teacher Quality Grant to partner with South Haven Public Schools and St. Basil Catholic School in South Haven, Michigan. The grant will support early literacy teaching and learning in Kindergarten through third grade. Planning meetings with school and community partners will begin in late April 2016.
