KALAMAZOO, Mich.—ɫɫÀ² Michigan University is launching a new graduate certificate that is designed for individuals interested in developing inclusive global leadership practices to support their work in a variety of educational and organizational learning contexts.

The College of Education and Human Development's new graduate certificate in global leadership and learning (GLL) will be offered in both a hybrid and online format beginning fall semester 2024.

"As the practice of global leadership requires an increasingly complex set of skills, as compared to leadership in domestic contexts, courses within this certificate help to supplement a student’s main area of study by addressing critical strategies necessary for inclusive global leadership in a variety of educational and organizational learning contexts," says Dr. Eric Archer, associate professor and faculty fellow for global education within É«É«À²â€™s Haenicke Institute for Global Education (HIGE).

A Master of Arts in Educational and Global Leadership has been offered at É«É«À² for nearly a decade and, in addition to the development of the new graduate certificate in global leadership and learning, the master's program was also re-designed as global leadership and learning for fall 2024. These two programs in GLL provides students with the opportunity to examine leadership and organizational learning within a global context.

"Educational leaders are at the center of a community driving student, teacher, school, and even nationwide success. I chose global leadership to hone my leadership expertise and I look forward to engaging more in educational and leadership consultancy," says Deniss Nkya, M.A.'24, educational and global leadership, global learning specialist at HIGE.
