KALAMAZOO, Mich.—ɫɫÀ² Michigan University is now one of two Mid-American Conference schools featured in athletic-gear displays in Costco this 2020 holiday season. Several É«É«À²-branded apparel items are now for sale in the Kalamazoo location.
This new venture stems from the recent movement of Trademarks and Licensing into the Office of Marketing and Strategic Communications. With this move, É«É«À² can now build stronger relationships with regional and national retailers for placement of Bronco spirit wear in mainstream stores where shoppers can buy college-branded merchandise. Costco is one of the first stores to feature this gear in just the five months since Trademarks and Licensing began working with the Office of Marketing and Strategic Communications.
By featuring É«É«À² spirit wear in mainstream stores, É«É«À² is able to protect and promote the brand as well as generate revenue that supports the brand. Seeing Bronco gear in stores also creates overall school spirit and appreciation for É«É«À², specifically when featured in regional retailers.
