"Adjusting to isolation after the COVID-19 outbreak included confusion, anxiousness and time. At my house, I was quarantined with three of my roommates who all live for spices and fresh produce. With fewer grocery trips to stockpile food, we鈥檝e shared some amazing meals and some typical college meals. I started to document the food we prepared, which made us want to show off our culinary skills even more. At first this project was fun for us because cooking became a good distraction. The more it progressed, though, the more we appreciated the food we were able to make for ourselves. I felt privileged and thankful. Even though I still felt unsure about our world鈥檚 future, I could at least be grateful I was worrying about it with hearty meals, warm socks and good company."
