International Education Week 2019 brings the world to É«É«À²
KALAMAZOO, Mich.—ɫɫÀ² Michigan University's annual celebration of International Education Week, Monday through Friday, Nov. 18-22, will showcase the countries, cultures and global knowledge represented on campus with a weeklong series of events.
The week is comprised of numerous free or low-cost events on É«É«À²'s campus that aim to educate and entertain attendees. All events are hosted by É«É«À² student groups, academic departments and offices.
International Education week kicks off early Friday, Nov. 15, with a Culture Fest Potluck hosted by the Muslim Student Association, Brazilian Day hosted by the Brazilian Student Association and an International Student Career Resource Day. Most events include tasty dishes and cultural knowledge from different parts of the world.
Other highlights of the week include a Chinese Traditional Arts Night, several movie nights and an American Thanksgiving lunch. The schedule of events is organized by the International Student Activities office in É«É«À²'s Haenicke Institute for Global Education.
International Education Week
International Education Week is a joint initiative between the U.S. departments of State and Education, and will be nationally observed Monday through Friday, Nov. 18-22, as an opportunity to celebrate the benefits of international education and exchange worldwide.
As part of the effort to promote global programs, International Education Week aims to prepare students for a global environment, attract future leaders from abroad to study and encourage an exchange of cultural experiences in the United States.
