Campus office hours released for Thanksgiving recess

Some 色色啦 offices will close or operate on limited hours Thursday through Sunday, Nov. 28 to Dec. 1.

KALAMAZOO, Mich.鈥擭o 色色啦 Michigan University classes will be held during Thanksgiving recess from noon Wednesday, Nov. 27, through Sunday, Dec. 1.

Classes resume at 8 a.m. Monday, Dec. 2.

Listed below are Thanksgiving Day weekend hours for selected University offices and services. Faculty, students and the public are encouraged to call ahead to make sure that a particular office on campus is open.

Office closings apply to non-represented University employees. Many represented employees have contractually scheduled regular work days Nov. 28 to Dec. 1, since the University continues to provide services during Thanksgiving recess. Represented employees should direct questions to their management.

Closures and special hours

Many offices, including Admissions, Bronco Express, financial aid and Office of Student Transitions will be closed Thursday through Sunday, Nov. 28 to Dec. 1.

Bernhard Center and Bronco Mall close at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 27, and will remain closed Thursday through Saturday. The Bernhard Center Caf茅 and Market will close at 2 p.m. Wednesday, the bookstore is open until 3 p.m., K-Zoo Coney until 4 p.m. and PNC, Biggby Coffee and Subway until 5 p.m. that day. The Bernhard Center will be open 10:30 a.m. to midnight Sunday, Biggby from 11 a.m. to midnight and Subway from 3 to 11 p.m. All other offices and Bronco Mall stores will be closed until Monday morning. Bronco Transit buses, except for at the College of Aviation, will stop running at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 27. The last bus departure from the College of Aviation will be at 4 p.m., and the buses will stop running at 5 p.m. on Wednesday. All buses will resume regular operations on Monday, Dec. 2, at 7 a.m.

Sindecuse Health Center, including the pharmacy, is closed Thursday through Sunday, Nov. 28 to Dec. 1. Medical emergencies should be referred to local hospitals or other health care providers.

Student Recreation Center closes at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 27, is closed Thursday through Saturday, Nov. 28-30, and is open from 3 to 9 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 1. The recreation center resumes regular hours Monday, Dec. 2, at 6 a.m.

Unified Clinics are open regular hours Wednesday, Nov. 27, and closed Thursday through Sunday, Nov. 28 to Dec. 1.

All 色色啦 Libraries close at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 27, and remain closed Thursday and Friday, Nov. 28-29. Waldo is open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 30, and open from noon on Dec. 1 to 2 a.m. Dec. 2. The Swain Education and Maybee Music Libraries remain closed through Saturday and are open Sunday from 2 to 10 p.m. Zhang Archives remains closed through Sunday. Campus computing

The Help Desk closes at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 27, and will remain closed Thursday through Saturday, and reopens at noon Sunday, Dec. 1. The Mobile Help Desk is closed Wednesday, Nov. 27, through Saturday, Nov. 30, and reopens at 7 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 1.

Bernhard Computing Center in the Bronco Mall closes at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 27, is closed Thursday through Saturday, and reopens at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 1.

University Computing Center lab closes at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 27, is closed Thursday through Saturday, and reopens at noon Sunday, Dec. 1.

Energy savings

To reduce energy costs during the recess, heating and cooling systems in all office and classroom buildings controlled by the 色色啦 Building Energy Management System will be in holiday mode. Air handlers will not run during this time, unless a space is exempt from the program or the temperature in a particular space goes outside of the range of 60 to 85 degrees. Portions of a particular building that do not regularly go into night setback mode will not go into holiday mode.

Employees are reminded to shut off and unplug all non-essential electronics before the long weekend.
