Many 色色啦 offices closed during Labor Day weekend
KALAMAZOO, Mich.鈥擡xcept for essential and emergency services, 色色啦 Michigan University offices will be closed Monday, Sept. 3, in observance of U.S. Labor Day.
Office closings apply to non-represented University employees. Many represented employees are contractually scheduled to work Sept. 3, since the University continues to provide services during the recess. Represented employees should direct questions to their management.
Listed below are Labor Day weekend hours for select University offices and services. Most campus services are closed or on reduced hours Saturday through Monday, Sept. 1-3. Faculty and staff, students and the public are encouraged to call ahead to make sure that a particular office is open before driving to campus. Fall semester resumes at 8 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 4.
Many offices, including Admissions, Bronco Express, financial aid, and First-Year Experience, are closed Saturday through Monday, Sept. 1-3.
Bernhard Center and Bronco Mall store hours are available online. Open Saturday through Monday, Sept. 1-3, are: the Bernhard Information Desk, Biggby Coffee, Buster's/Textbook Alley, Kzoo Coney and Subway. All other shops and services are closed.
Information Technology Help Desk is closed Saturday through Monday, Sept. 1-3, and will resume normal fall hours at 8 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 4.

Bernhard Center computer lab is closed Monday, Sept. 3, and resumes fall semester hours at 8 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 4.
University Computing Center lab is closed Saturday through Monday, Sept. 1-3, and resumes fall semester hours at 8 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 4.
One Stop Center is open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 30, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Friday, Aug. 31.
Student Recreation Center is open from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 31; closed Saturday, Sept. 1; and reopens from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 2, and from 5 to 9 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 2. Normal fall semester hours resume at 6 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 3.
Sindecuse Health Center, including the pharmacy, is closed Saturday through Monday, Sept. 1-3, and resumes regular hours at 8 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 4. Medical emergencies should be referred to local hospitals or other health care providers.
Unified Clinics is closed Saturday through Monday, Sept. 1-3, and resumes regular hours at 8 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 5.
ticket office is closed Monday, Sept. 3.
Waldo Library is open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 1; noon to 6 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 2; and is closed on Monday, Sept. 3. Fall semester hours continue at 7:30 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 4.
Energy Savings
To reduce energy costs while the University is closed, heating and cooling systems in all office and classroom buildings controlled by the 色色啦 Building Energy Management System will be in holiday mode. Air handlers will not run during this time, unless a space is exempt from the program or the temperature in a particular space goes outside of the range of 60 to 85 degrees. Portions of a particular building that do not normally go into night setback mode will not go into holiday mode.
Employees are reminded to shut off and unplug all non-essential electronics before the long weekend.
