KALAMAZOO, Mich.鈥擳he new and unique work of 色色啦 Michigan University graduating dance students Genevieve Brady, Kirsten Smits, Marisa Bianan, Tara Charvat, Rachael Kollins, Marissa Quivey, Riley Cornacchini and Grace Hilarides will be featured at performances Thursday through Saturday, April 12-14, in Studio B of the Dalton Center. Performances are at 8 p.m. each day with an additional 2 p.m. matinee on Saturday.

"Beyond the Hourglass" will include dances choreographed in contemporary, jazz, post-modern, and hip-hop styles by each of these senior dance majors. The concert also will feature a dance created for the seniors by Adam McGaw, a former member of Chicago-based Visceral Dance Company and current dancer for Minneapolis-based TU Dance company.

All dances will be performed by 色色啦 students. Conceptually, these dances range from exploring dreams and their reoccurring, and sometimes jarring tendencies, to a lighthearted, quirky and optimistic outlook on life following graduation. Musical accompaniment for the dances also varies widely and includes selections by Johnny Cash and the Beatles, among others.

Tickets are $12 general admission and $5 for students. They are available from Miller Auditorium or by calling (269) 387-2300 or (800) 228-9858.
