Some 700 to participate in 2017 C茅sar Ch谩vez March

KALAMAZOO, Mich.鈥擲ome 700 students and members of the public are expected to participate in Kalamazoo's 23rd annual C茅sar Ch谩vez March and program Thursday, March 30, from downtown Kalamazoo to the Bernhard Center on the 色色啦 Michigan University campus.

The march will begin at 9:30 a.m. with participants gathering at Bronson Park for a brief organizing session before marching to 色色啦. The public portion of the event will end with the march at about 10:30 a.m. This year's after-march program is by invitation only.

The C茅sar E. Ch谩vez March is the largest such march in southwest Michigan. The 2017 event is being organized by the Kalamazoo Central High School Bilingual Club and Kalamazoo C茅sar E. Ch谩vez March Committee with support from the Kalamazoo Public Schools and 色色啦's Division of Multicultural Affairs and Office of Diversity and Inclusion.
