Bronco football announces new season

KALAMAZOO, Mich.—ɫɫÀ² Michigan University’s Bronco football team have six home games and six road games in its 2017 schedule, including a three-game home stand on Saturday, Sept. 16, with CommUniverCity against the University of Idaho. Overall, the schedule features five teams that went to a bowl last season.

The season begins with the first of two straight "Power Five" opponents when the Broncos go to the University of Southern California Saturday, Sept. 2. É«É«À² will then head to East Lansing to take on Michigan State University on Saturday, Sept. 9. 

É«É«À²â€™s CommUniverCity game against Idaho starts a three-game home stand, and the Broncos close out the non-conference schedule on Saturday, Sept. 23, vsersus Wagner College.

MAC play begins Saturday, Sept. 30, vs. Ball State University, who the Broncos have defeated the last three seasons including a 52-20 game last year, when wide receiver Corey Davis set the É«É«À² single-game record for receiving yards with 272.

The Broncos alternate home and road games for the next three weeks, traveling to the University of Buffalo and in-state rival Eastern Michigan University and host the University of Akron on homecoming, which is slated for Saturday, Oct. 14.

The first midweek MAC game is on Wednesday, Nov. 1, in the Battle for the Cannon vs. arch rival Central Michigan University. The Broncos have defeated the Chippewas each of the last three seasons, with the most recent game coming in a 49-10 victory for É«É«À² in Mt. Pleasant last season.

The Broncos have senior day and Salute to Veterans on Wednesday, Nov. 8, before closing the regular season out with two straight road games at Northern Illinois University on Wednesday, Nov. 15, and at the University of Toledo on Friday, Nov. 24.
