Full of dynamic characters, all from different backgrounds, "The Foreigner" is a family-friendly comedy of mistaken identity and cultural confusion.

It takes place in a rural fishing lodge in Georgia. Bubbly Froggy brings his pathologically shy friend Charlie for a weekend away. Terrified by the idea of having to speak to the other people at the lodge, Charlie seeks help from Froggy. With no other solution in mind, Froggy tells everyone that Charlie is a "foreigner" and cannot speak or understand English. Thinking Charlie cannot comprehend a word, other guests in the lodge seek comfort and refuge in Charlie. Non-stop hilarity ensues as the "foreigner" becomes keeper of more secrets than he ever cared to know.

Directed by Mark Liermann, "The Foreigner" is the third show in the University Theatre's 2016-17 season.
