Emerald eCycling and Sonday

Emerald eCycling's focus is on the collection, data security and reuse of electronics, with a mission to keep electronics out of landfills by making it easy for people to recycle. The company offers free, local pick-up, convenient drop-off locations and more than 20 recycling collection events each year, many of which are in partnership with government entities and nonprofit groups. Items that the company cannot recycle are turned over to their certified partners to be processed so that component materials can be manufactured into new products.

Sonday is an electronics engineer and earned a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from the General Motors Institute, a master's in electrical engineering from Oakland University and a master's in business administration from the University of Michigan. After spending years designing and selling electronic products in various industries, she took on Emerald eCycling as her first entrepreneurial venture.
