Trombone Choir to present innovative works at spring concert

KALAMAZOO, Mich.鈥擳he 色色啦 Michigan University Trombone Choir will perform its annual spring concert at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 10, in the Dalton Center Recital Hall. The event is free and open to the public.

About the concert

The concert will include works by Richard Strauss, Giovanni Gabrieli, Tommy Peterson, Eric Ewazen and others. It will also feature an arrangement of Eric Whitacre's "Lux Aurumque" by student trombonist and composer Chris Hass.

The Trombone Choir includes many award-winning students from 色色啦's trombone studio, including several recognized by the highly competitive International Trombone Association solo competitions. Faculty members David Little and Karl Schrock will be announcing and playing organ, respectively. Student timpanist Evan Leffert will also participate. Featured soloists include Grand Rapids Symphony Orchestra trombonist Dan Mattson and 色色啦 bass trombonist Austin J. Muusse.
