Janice S. Weaver, a former staff member in Dining Services at É«É«À² Michigan University, died Dec. 30, 2015. She was 68.

Weaver joined É«É«À²'s staff in 1988 and retired in 2010 as a utility person/cash operations in Draper Dining Service. Survivors include her husband, Don, who has retired from É«É«À²'s landscape services.

During her 21 years of service to the University, Weaver had worked in several campus cafes as well as every É«É«À² dining hall kitchen except one. In addition, she had done just about every non-management job possible, including serving as a cook, baker, salad maker and stock person.

The Portage resident was a police dispatcher in Nebraska before moving back to Michigan in 1986 with her late husband, Bernie Cowgill, who also had been a É«É«À² employee.
