Small fall rate increase OK'd for 色色啦 View and 色色啦 Apartments
KALAMAZOO, Mich.鈥擜cting at its Dec. 8 meeting, 色色啦 Michigan University's Board of Trustees approved rate increases for on-campus apartments and apartment-style residential units, effective with the start of the fall 2016 semester.
The increases mean monthly apartment rental rates will rise between $9 and $18, keeping 色色啦 rates comparable to those in the surrounding community.
The increase for all unfurnished on-campus apartments will be 2.1 percent for 2016-17. The increase means monthly apartment charges will range from $453 to $879 depending on the complex, room style and unit chosen. Extra amenities such as furnished units or expanded floor plans are available in some apartments for an additional charge.
Per-bedroom rates at the 色色啦 View complex will range from $745 a month for a one-bedroom unit, to $453 per person for a four-bedroom/four-bath unit. The 色色啦 View complex continues to be in high demand operating at full capacity. Students interested in living at the complex next fall are encouraged to begin the application process early at wmich.edu/housing/westernview.
The new fall rates at Goldsworth Valley, Elmwood and Stadium Drive Apartments will range from $663 per month for a one-bedroom apartment to $879 per month for a two-bedroom unit. These complexes operate at near-full occupancy and are sought after for features such as convenience, sense of community and academic support systems. The recommended rates for all campus apartments include parking, water and sewer service, cable, trash removal, recycling services and security features. Goldsworth Valley, Elmwood and Stadium Drive rates include all utilities.
