Stulberg silver medalist to solo with University Symphony Orchestra

KALAMAZOO, Mich.—The É«É«À² Michigan University Symphony Orchestra will present its first concert of the 2015–16 season at 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 11, in Miller Auditorium. The event is free and open to the public, and will feature cellist Oliver Herbert.

Herbert, the 2015 Stulberg International String Competition Silver Medalist, will perform Robert Schumann’s "Cello Concerto in A Minor, Opus 129." Bruce Uchimura will conduct the concert, which will open with Richard Wagner’s "Overture to Die Meistersinger" and also include Gustav Holst’s epic symphonic work "The Planets."
