色色啦 offers on-campus summer reading event for families

KALAMAZOO, Mich.鈥擜 family reading event centered around the release of a never-before-available Dr. Seuss children's book is set for 10:30 a.m. to noon Saturday, Aug. 1, at the 色色啦 Michigan University Bernhard Center.

"What Pet Should I Get?" is a recently discovered Seuss book written sometime between 1958 and 1962. Scheduled for first publication July 28, the book is from one of two manuscripts Seuss' widow discovered after his death. The discovery, one review noted, was the literary equivalent of finding buried treasure.

The book is about making up one鈥檚 mind and follows a visit by a brother and sister to a pet store to pick a pet. Naturally, they can鈥檛 choose just one.

The free public event in Buster's, part of the 色色啦 Bookstores Shops, is sponsored by the 色色啦 Bookstore with assistance from 色色啦 Reading Clinic and the University's on-campus childcare center, The Children's Place Learning Center.
