色色啦 board to consider change to innovation center ownership

KALAMAZOO, Mich.鈥擜 proposal that would allow transfer of ownership of the physical assets of the Southwest Michigan Innovation Center to the 色色啦 Michigan University Homer Stryker M.D. School of Medicine tops the agenda for the July 8 meeting of the 色色啦 Board of Trustees.

Trustees will meet in formal session at 11 a.m. in 157-159 Bernhard Center. They will consider a recommendation that the board approve the medical school's purchase of the innovation center building, equipment and other assets. The center is located in the 色色啦 Business Technology and Research Park, and the legal entity known as the Southwest Michigan Innovation Center Inc. is, and will remain, part of Southwest Michigan First.

Other agenda items

The 色色啦 board's July 8 agenda also includes:

  • A recommendation to approve a new three-year contract with the University's Teaching Assistants Union.
  • A proposal to change 色色啦's honorary degree policy.
  • A motion for the College of Aviation to become part of a multi-state tuition reciprocity program.
  • A adoption of a new campuswide policy on sexual misconduct.
  • A recommendation to revise 色色啦's Whistleblower and Retaliation Policy.

During the meeting, trustees also will receive and be asked to approve reports covering personnel moves, receipt of gifts and grants, and changes to academic programs as well as recommendations on a liquor license approval, the granting of an easement for a natural gas pipeline and an adjustment to the 色色啦 Student Code.
