New admissions director to start in February

KALAMAZOO, Mich.—Dachea (Dah-SHAY) Hill, director of admissions at Northeastern Illinois University in Chicago, will head enrollment efforts at É«É«À² Michigan University beginning Monday, Feb. 9.

A Northeastern Illinois administrator since 2013, she has previous admissions experience at Purdue University Calumet and DePaul University.

"Dachea will use her enthusiasm, her experience from multiple other colleges and universities, and her drive for excellence to usher in a new era of admissions and enrollment planning to support enrollment growth at É«É«À²," says Dr. Christopher Tremblay, associate provost for enrollment management and interim director of admissions.

"After visiting campus, I was very impressed by the University. The dedication of the faculty and staff is evident in the quality of the programs. I am also enamored by the City of Kalamazoo and am excited to become an active member of the community," Hill says. "I have worked with a lot of students during my career, and É«É«À² is such an attractive option for students at every age, stage, and level. É«É«À² offers stellar academic programs, an abundance of student life, and sits in a great community."

During her time as admissions director at Northeastern Illinois, Hill played a key role in expanding the university's recruitment reach and admissions yield. Her background includes technical skills in a number of admissions-related programs and experience in applying them to recruitment.

Prior to taking the position at Northeastern, she was at Purdue University-Calumet from 2007 to 2012, beginning as a recruiter and academic advisor and ending with a 10-month stint as interim director of admissions. She also has served as an academic coordinator at the University of Illinois at Chicago and in multiple admissions positions at DePaul University.

She earned a bachelor's degree from DePaul and a master's degree from Purdue University and is active with the National Association for College Admission Counseling.

Hill will succeed Penny Bundy, who is now the University's director of graduate admissions.
