KALAMAZOO, Mich.—The É«É«À² Michigan University men's soccer program carried the third-highest team grade point average among NCAA Division I institutions for the 2013-14 academic year, the National Soccer Coaches Association of America recently announced.

The team boasted a 3.41 GPA, the third straight season the Broncos have carried one of the top three team GPAs among Division I schools. É«É«À² men's soccer had the highest Division I GPA in 2011-12 with a 3.45 and was second in last year’s release for the 2012-13 season with a 3.46.

'A great achievement'

"What a great achievement to be recognized as a team that has one of the top Division 1 men's soccer team GPAs in the nation for the third straight year," said head coach Chad Wiseman. "These guys get it done on the field, throughout our community and in the classroom. I can speak on behalf of all our administration and Bronco nation when I say we are extremely proud of what these guys are accomplishing in the classroom."

É«É«À² was ranked No. 14 nationally out of all three divisions combined for 2013-14.

A total of 23 members of É«É«À²'s 28-man 2013-14 roster posted GPAs of 3.0 or higher. Five of those were 3.8 or better and 14 were 3.5 or better, with one perfect 4.0 earned by graduated senior Derek Schrauben.
