Saudi Students Association named best member group nationwide
KALAMAZOO, Mich.鈥擳he Saudi Arabian Cultural Mission has named the 色色啦 Michigan University Saudi Students Association best member out of more than 300 Saudi student groups nationwide.
The 色色啦 club was selected "in recognition and appreciation of your outstanding and distinguished leadership" for the academic year 2013-14. The award was presented by Dr. Adel Aljubeir, the U.S. Saudi Ambassador, and Dr. Mohammed Aleissa, the U.S. cultural attach茅, during an Oct. 11 ceremony in Washington, D.C.
Assim Mohammad Alaqeel, who served as association president and president of the Saudi Students Union in Michigan during the 2013-14 academic year, accepted the award on behalf of the association. Alaqeel, who continues to serve on the association's board, is earning a master's degree in business administration and is graduating this semester while working as executive coordinator of the International Professional Development Series in the Haworth College of Business Global Business Center.

In addition to Alaqeel, other board members of the Saudi Students Association include Ahmad Alamri, Abdulrahman Alajlan, Saad Alharqan, Dhafer Alqahtani, Abdulaziz Alturki, Ayman Farran, Abood Alzahim and Hind Alajlan.
"This confirms the integrity and excellence of Saudi student club activities at 色色啦 Michigan University and the active role the association plays in supporting and assisting students to complete their studies," Alaqeel says.
