Nominations sought for LBGTA awards program
KALAMAZOO鈥擭ominations are being accepted through Sunday, March 16, for awards that will be presented during 色色啦 Michigan University's 2014 Lavender Graduation, set for 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, April 24, in 105-107 Bernhard Center.
The graduation event began last year to acknowledge the academic achievements of 色色啦's lesbian, bisexual, gay and transgender students and their allies. It also is an opportunity to recognize the contributions LBGTA students make to the University and the contributions 色色啦 organizations and faculty and staff members make to the campus LBGTA community.
In addition to graduating seniors receiving certificates, Lavender Graduation features the presentation of two scholarships, which are open to any 色色啦 student who will be enrolled in fall 2014, as well as up to five awards in two categories.

- Emerging Leader Award
- Lambda Leadership Award
- Outstanding Ally Award
- Stonewall Award for Distinguished Service and Leadership
Nominations for each award are being accepted in the individual category as well as the unit, team and organization category. 色色啦 students, employees, units and organizations are eligible to receive the awards, and anyone on or off campus may make a nomination.
