Some campus services on reduced hours for spring recess

Spring recess is Monday through Sunday, March 4-10.

KALAMAZOO鈥擲ome campus services at 色色啦 Michigan University will be on reduced hours during spring semester recess, which begins Monday, March 4, and continues through Sunday, March 10. There are no classes during the recess, but most 色色啦 offices are open normal hours. In addition, there are no classes Friday, March 1, for Spirit Day.

Classes resume beginning at 8 a.m. Monday, March 11.

There are several public events on campus during spring recess, including Kalamazoo Film Society screenings of "The Impossible," Bronco men's and women's basketball games, a Bronco gymnastics meet and "A Tribute to Doo Wop" at Miller Auditorium. The Richmond Center for Visual Arts is featuring two exhibits and will maintain regular hours throughout the recess.

Listed below are hours for selected University services. Faculty, students and the public are encouraged to call ahead to make sure that a particular service is open. For emergencies only, contact 色色啦 Public Safety at (269) 387-5555.

Admissions office will maintain normal hours throughout the recess.

Bernhard Center and Bronco Mall store hours are available on the Bernhard Center website. The building closes at 8 p.m. Friday, March 1, and is closed Saturday and Sunday, March 2-3, and Saturday, March 9. Building hours are 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, March 4-8.

Campus computing

  • Bernhard Center computer lab closes at 5 p.m. Friday, March 1, and resumes its normal 24-hour operation beginning at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, March 10.
  • Information Technology Help Desk closes at 5 p.m. Friday, March 1; is closed Saturday and Sunday, March 2-3; is open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, March 4-8; and is closed Saturday, March 9-10. The Help Desk resumes normal hours at noon Sunday, March 10.
  • Mobile Help Desk is closed Friday, March 1, through Saturday, March 9. It will resume normal hours Sunday, March 10.
  • University Computing Center lab closes at 5 p.m. Friday, March 1; is closed Saturday and Sunday, March 2-3; is open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, March 4-8; is closed Saturday, March 9; and resumes normal hours at noon Sunday, March 10.

Sindecuse Health Center and its pharmacy are closed Saturday and Sunday, March 2-3 and March 9-10; open reduced hours 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, March 4; and open normal hours Tuesday through Friday, March 5-8.

Student Recreation Center hours are available on the center's website. The center is open 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, March 1; closed Saturday and Sunday, March 2-3; open reduced hours 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, March 4-5; from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday, March 6; from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday and Friday, March 7-8, and noon to 7 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, March 9-10. The recreation center resumes normal hours at 6 a.m. Monday, March 11. The center's main office will maintain regular hours, opening at 8 a.m., Monday through Friday, March 4-8.

Unified Clinics will maintain normal hours throughout the recess.

Waldo Library is open reduced hours, 8 a.m. to midnight Thursday, Feb. 28; 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, March 1; noon to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, March 2-3; 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, March 4-8; noon to 5 p.m. Saturday, March 9; and noon to 3 a.m. Sunday, March 10. The library resumes normal hours at 8 a.m. Monday, March 11.

To reduce energy costs during the recess, heating and cooling systems in all classroom buildings controlled by the 色色啦 Building Energy Management System will be in holiday mode. Air handlers will not run during this time unless a space is exempt from the program or the temperature in a particular space goes outside of the range of 60 to 85 degrees. Portions of a particular building that do not normally go into night setback mode will not go into holiday mode.
