Fulbright informational sessions scheduled

KALAMAZOO—ɫɫÀ² Michigan University faculty members and administrators are invited to learn about overseas study, seminars and funding opportunities to conduct research through the Fulbright Program in two February workshops.

Both workshops will cover the same material and will be held in the Bernhard Center. The first is planned for 4 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 13, in Room 211. The second workshop will be held at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 14, in Room 204. No registration is required.

The events are being hosted by the Haenicke Institute for Global Education and being led by Dr. Michelle Metro-Roland, É«É«À²'s Fulbright Scholar Campus Representative and director of faculty and global program development.

Metro-Roland will present information on the types of awards that are typically funded, as well as provide tips on how to craft a competitive application.

More than 1,000 American faculty members and university administrators receive grants to conduct research, lecture and take part in seminars in approximately 125 countries each year. Opportunities for É«É«À² faculty members and administrators include grants through:

  • Core Fulbright Scholar Program,
  • Fulbright Specialist Program,
  • Fulbright Distinguished Chairs Program,
  • Fulbright International Education Administrators Program,
  • Fulbright German Studies Seminars, and
  • Fulbright NEXUS Regional Scholar Program
