KALAMAZOO鈥擱ecognized as one of the most successful collegiate vocal groups in the world, Gold Company is giving two perfornances of its 35th annual show at 2 and 8 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, at 色色啦 Michigan University's Miller Auditorium.

In addition to acclaimed shows throughout the United States, Canada, Europe and South Africa, Gold Company continues to accumulate milestones including performances at Walt Disney World, Carnegie Hall and Jazz at Lincoln Center in New York City. Under the direction of Duane Shields Davis, this high-energy ensemble combines musical elements from the traditional choral style with stylistic characteristics from the jazz vernacular, emphasizing improvisation and swing.  

The group has appeared with guest artists including Bobby McFerrin, Janis Siegel, Mark Murphy, Rosemary Clooney, Jon Hendricks, Don Shelton and Bonnie Herman of The Singers Unlimited. In addition, Numerous arrangements have been written specifically for Gold Company by talents such as Gene Puerling, Clare Fischer, Darmon Meader, Michele Weir, Jennifer Shelton (an alumna), and others. Gold Company has also recorded several audio and video demo tapes for Hal Leonard Publications and Shawnee Press.

Gold Company's 35th Anniversary Spectacular is part of the Lake Michigan Mailers Spotlight Series, sponsored by Zhang Financial and is welcomed by Meijer. A 15 percent discount is available to all 色色啦 faculty and staff, and a 50 percent discount is available to 色色啦 students. Discounted tickets may be purchased by phone or in person, and a valid Bronco ID is required at the time of pickup. Group discounts are available at (269) 387-2312.
