KALAMAZOO—ɫɫÀ² Winds, a faculty and graduate student ensemble in É«É«À² Michigan University’s School of Music, will perform its first concert of 2013 at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 5, in the Dalton Center Recital Hall. The concert is free and open to the public.

The ensemble is conducted by Dr. Robert Spradling, who will retire later this year. It was recently announced that Spradling’s replacement will be É«É«À² alumnus Dr. Scott Boerma, currently director of marching and athletic bands at the University of Michigan.

The Feb. 5 program will include Richard Strauss’ "Vienna Philharmonic Fanfare," Robert Kurka’s suite from the opera "The Good Soldier Schweik," and Igor Stravinsky’s "Symphonies of Wind Instruments." The evening will also feature performances by the Graduate Wind and Brass Quintets.
