Finalists for enrollment manager position to speak on campus
KALAMAZOO—Two finalists for the position of associate provost for enrollment management at É«É«À² Michigan University will be on campus this week to make public presentations and meet with a number of University groups.
The two were identified following a national search. The candidates and the days, times and locations of their public presentations are:
- Dr. Bryan J. Terry, associate vice president for enrollment management and student academic success at Montclair State University—2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 10, in 2020 Fetzer Center.
- Christopher W. Tremblay, assistant vice chancellor for enrollment management at the University of Michigan-Dearborn—2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 11, in 2020 Fetzer Center.
Dr. Bryan J. Terry
Terry has been the enrollment management chief at Montclair State since 2009 and oversees admissions, financial aid, testing tutoring, an Educational Opportunity Program and the Center for Advisement and Student Transition, which includes advising, freshman and sophomore programs and orientation. A recruitment plan he implemented there has resulted in a 40 percent increase in out-of-state enrollment and an 8 percent increase in the size of the entering freshman class.
Prior to taking his position at Montclair State, Terry served as associate vice president for enrollment management for three years at Seton Hall University. He also has held enrollment management or financial aid positions at the University of Miami, Florida A&M University, Wayne State University, Illinois State University, Fontbonne College and Lewis and Clark Community College.
Terry holds a doctoral degree from Illinois State and a master's degree from Fontbonne College. He also earned his bachelor's degree at Illinois State.
Christopher W. Tremblay
Tremblay has been at U of M-Dearborn since 2006, serving first as director of admissions and orientation, then as executive director of enrollment management and interim director of financial aid before being promoted to his current position in 2011. He oversees all admissions, financial aid and orientation operations. Under his watch, undergraduate enrollment has increased by 14 percent and the school saw its four largest freshman classes in history, even as the incoming freshman profile saw a spike in both average GPA and ACT scores.
Before joining the U of M-Dearborn administration, Tremblay was director of admissions at Gannon University. He launched his admission career at É«É«À², where he served as counselor, assistant director of admissions and orientation coordinator before leaving to take the Gannon position.
Tremblay is a É«É«À² alumnus, who earned both bachelor's and master's degrees through the School of Communication. He is completing a doctoral degree at U of M-Dearborn.
The candidate selected for the position will fill the vacancy created when Dr. Keith Hearit stepped down last summer, after five years as É«É«À²'s enrollment management chief, to return to the faculty.
