KALAMAZOO—ɫɫÀ² Michigan University's softball team boasts the most National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-America Scholar Athletes in a single year in its program history, with eight honorees from 2011-12.

Seniors Courtney Rousseau, a civil engineering major from Bay City Mich., with a 3.98 GPA; and Jennifer Tschetter, a psychology major from Scottsdale, Ariz., with a 3.87 GPA; became only the second and third softball student-athletes to be named NFCA All-America Scholar Athletes three times in their respective careers. Rousseau had É«É«À²'s eighth highest GPA in 2011-12, ranking highest among student-athletes without a 4.0 GPA.

Junior Christina Pigozzi, an exercise science major from South Haven, Mich., is a two-time honoree with a 3.57 GPA.

Seniors earning the honor for the first time in their respective careers are Gracie Barstad, a marketing major from Canby, Ore., with a 3.15 GPA; Tara Buchanan, a recreation major from Kingsford Heights, Ind., with a 3.57 GPA; and Meredith Whitney, an interdisciplinary health services major from Scottsdale, Ariz., with a 3.18 GPA.

Earning NFCA All-America Scholar Athlete honors for the first time when they were freshmen are sophomores Jenny Rohn, an elementary education major from Rochester Hills, Mich., with a 3.57 GPA; and Megan Stamm, a political science major from Grand Blanc, Mich., with a 3.78 GPA.

Prior to this year's team, the most NFCA All-America National Scholar Athlete selections the Broncos had garnered in a single year were six in 2011, 2010, 2004 and 1998.
