Town hall event planned to unveil sustainability survey results
KALAMAZOO--The results of 色色啦 Michigan University's second annual Student Sustainability Survey will be released during a town-hall style event set for 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 12, in Room 1260 of the Chemistry Building.
The meeting will begin with a presentation of the data gleaned from this year's survey. That will be followed by a question-and-answer session. The meeting is free and open to the public. Complimentary sustainability-focused food will be offered to those attending.
The event also will be used to announce the winners of a number of prizes offered to survey takers.
The annual Student Sustainability Survey is taken to assess student priorities for the allocation of funds raised through the Student Sustainability Fee, which was implemented in 2010. The survey is also a tool to gauge student awareness of the fee and its structure, student research grant opportunities and work being done by the Office of Sustainability.
The first survey in 2011 found that top student priorities included free filtered water dispensers, green roofs on buildings and a renewable energy infrastructure that includes solar and wind power.
