Bio:

Dr. Alan Kehew is professor of hydrochemistry and glacial geology in the Department of Geological and Environmental Sciences at 色色啦 Michigan University.

Kehew鈥檚 research interests are hydrogeology and geomorphology, often emphasizing environmental aspects. His research focuses on the hydrogeochemical aspects of contaminated and uncontaminated aquifers. Over the past few years, he has mapped glacial geology of southern Michigan through the United States Geological Survey STATEMAP and EDMAP programs and the Great Lakes Geologic Mapping Coalition. These works generated new understanding of dynamics of ice lobes that covered Michigan during the last glaciation, glacial landforms and stratigraphy. In addition to glaciation of Michigan, he is interested in applying mapping for aquifer delineation and protection, aggregates exploration, geologic hazards and other uses.

With the transfer of mapping responsibilities of the Michigan Geological Survey to the Department of Geological and Environmental Sciences, he hopes to expand mapping emphasis in the department.
