Master of Arts and Graduate Certification in Educational and Instructional Technology Admissions
TIMELINE
Applications for the Masters of Arts and the Graduate Certification in educational and instructional technology are accepted on an ongoing basis.
Note: "Conditional admissions" may be considered for those applicants who meet all requirements except the desired English language proficiency score (under the conditions noted below). Admission procedures and requirements
Within this online application system, applicants must include the following:
- Resume or curriculum vita: A resume or curriculum vita is required and must be submitted within the online application.
- Written statement: Please prepare a statement which covers the following information and attach it within the online application:
Write a personal essay (suggested 1000 words) describing your technology and computer skills and background, career goals and educational philosophy as it relates to educational and instructional technology. Applicants should outline their technology skills and relevant professional experiences in the essay.
This essay should provide the faculty reviewers with information to help determine if the student has the necessary technology background and experience to be successful in the program. The reviewers are also interested in the educational "philosophy" of the student and how that philosophy guides the student鈥檚 beliefs about the use of educational and instructional technology. - Education history information and transcripts
- Applicants must list all previously attended higher education institutions.
- Applicants must submit an official transcript from the institution from which you received your Bachelor degree, as well as a transcript from institution(s) where any graduate level courses or degrees have been taken/completed. Applicants are not required to submit an official transcript of courses taken/completed at 色色啦 Michigan University.
- It is preferred that applicants have an overall grade point average of at least 3.0 in the last two years of their undergraduate or graduate work, but recent professional experience is also considered.
- English language proficiency scores (international applicants only)
- As required by 色色啦, international applicants must provide proof of English competency, unless they have successfully completed either four years of upper secondary school or one year of full-time tertiary (university-level) education. See 色色啦 English language requirements for more information.
- English proficiency scores may be reported within the online application system and official scores must be sent to 色色啦.
- Desired minimum English language proficiency scores for this M.A. include: 6.5 on IELTS; 227 on TOEFL (CBT), 567 on TOEFL (PBT), or a 86 on TOEFL (iBt), with the following minimum subscores on the TOEFL (iBT): 20 in reading, 20 in listening, 24 in speaking, and 22 in writing.
- Students not meeting these minimum desired scores may still apply and potentially receive 鈥渃onditional admission.鈥 For such students, full admission would be granted after having met the requirements for advanced-level students within 色色啦鈥檚 Center for English Language and Culture for International Students (CELCIS) program (by passing all advanced-level classes with a final grade of 鈥淏鈥 or better in each class in each class).
The application does not require graduate test scores or recommendations.
