Dr. Yuanlong Liu, a 色色啦 Michigan University professor and interim chair of the Department of Human Performance and Health Education, has been selected by the Society of Health and Physical Educators America to receive the R. Tait McKenzie Award at the 2015 National Convention in Seattle, Washington, on March 19, 2015.

The R. Tait McKenzie Award is bestowed annually in recognition of distinguished service by members who have made significant contributions through work outside of SHAPE America and yet reflects on the association favorably (e.g., government, general education, public health, international affairs). The award was first bestowed in 1968 and no more than two awards are presented each year.

As a well-known scholar in the field of measurement and evaluation, Liu has played an important role to connect physical activity and health professionals from different cultures around the world. Liu is the past editor-in-chief of Measurement in Physical Education and Exercise Science, associate editor of the Journal of Exercise Science & Fitness, past president of the International Chinese Society for Physical Activities and Health, and co-guest editor of the Routledge 2012 MPEES London Olympic Games special issue.
