General summary

Responsible for the development and implementation of a comprehensive international enrollment plan at the undergraduate and graduate level. Manages and supervises the recruitment, scholarship, and admissions decisions for international applicants.

Major duties

  • Leads recruitment, scholarship, and admissions functions for international students. Serves as liaison between international entities and various offices on campus. Ensures that student needs are met.

  • Manages recruitment budget allocations.
  • Develops strategic plans and proposals for student recruitment, enrollment and retention.
  • Manages overseas education agents and in-country liaisons to achieve enrollment and revenue goals.
  • Collaborates with marketing team to implement recruitment strategy.
  • Serves on committees and workgroups at unit leadership level.
  • Hires, trains, evaluates, and supervises staff and student employees.

Minimum qualifications

Required education

  • Master’s degree in a related field from an accredited institution.

Required experience

  • Five years' relevant experience
  • Supervisory or lead experience.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of U.S. immigration policies and regulations.
  • Knowledge of international educational systems and structures.
  • Demonstrated cross-cultural sensitivity and awareness.

Required other

  • Ability to travel internationally.
  • U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident to meet the federal requirements to serve as a Designated School Official (for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security) and Alternate Responsible Officer (for the U.S. Department of State).

  • Doctoral degree in a related field from an accredited institution.

Desired experience

  • Eight years’ relevant experience.

Desired other

  • Foreign language skills suitable for interpretation of application credentials.

Physical requirements

Office or other indoor work with minimal physical demands such as occasionally lifting or moving materials less than 25 pounds.

Working conditions

Work is generally performed in a well-lit, temperature-controlled indoor environment with occasional exposure to the outdoors or any number of elements.
