Fall 2024 Thesis Defense Information:
Thesis Celebration is not a competition, it is a great opportunity for you to share all of your hard work with your friends, family, and peers! Each thesis defense that is a part of Thesis Celebration will count as an honors college sponsored event for those who wish to attend, and will be open to the public.
If you wish to participate in Thesis Celebration:
Confer with your committee on the date and time that work best for all of you.
Please list three (3) dates and times in the space provided on the form. A room will be assigned to you according to availability. First come, first scheduled.
All presenters participating in Thesis Celebration must defend between 9 a.m. (earliest presentation) and 4 p.m. (latest presentation) Wed., Dec. 4 through Fri., Dec. 6, 2024.
Deadline to sign up for Thesis Celebration is Fri., Nov. 15 at 5 p.m.
Your thesis packet will be sent to you via email.
If you do not wish to participate in Thesis Celebration:
You are responsible for scheduling your own thesis defense with your committee. Confer with your committee on the date and time that work best for all of you.
You may defend either in person or virtually, but all of your committee members must be present either way. If you choose to defend virtually, you may do so via Webex, Zoom, or any other video conferencing platform that works best for you and your committee. Please note that if you choose to defend virtually, the honors college will not organize or schedule that for you.
If you choose to defend in person, please contact Ms. Jennifer Townsend for space in the honors college, or confer with your committee as to the location that works best for all of you. (Please note that if you choose not to participate in thesis celebration, all room preference during that week will be given to those students who are participating.)
You are not required to defend your thesis during Thesis Celebration, but you MUST STILL defend your thesis to your committee, and you MUST STILL submit a defense request, regardless of whether you defend in person or via video platform.
Your thesis packet will be sent to you via email.
Please direct any questions to Ms. Jennifer Townsend.
