Application deadlines
Applicants are admitted once per year in the Fall on an annual basis. Application requires submission through the Communication Sciences and Disorders Centralized Application Service (CSDCAS) at , which will automatically integrate with the É«É«À² Michigan University's Graduate College. You do not need to submit a separate É«É«À² application.
The application deadline is January 15. Be advised that it can sometimes take CSDCAS up to two weeks to verify application materials; therefore, it is recommended that students submit materials at least two weeks before January 15. Contact CSDCAS directly with any questions pertaining to their portal. The process of reviewing applications is extensive, and it may take several weeks before applicants hear a response (usually mid-March).
Resume/Curriculum Vitae (CV)
A resume or curriculum vitae (CV) is not required; however, students are asked to enter information regarding Relevant Experiences and Achievements in the CSDCAS application.
Graduate test
This program does not require a graduate test.
Note: International applicants are asked to provide scores from the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). More information can be found within the online application.
Recommendations
This program requires 3 letters of recommendation from individuals able to comment on the applicant's academic and practicum achievements and potential for successful graduate work.
Written statement
This program requires written responses to the following prompts within the Communication Science and Disorders Centralized Application Service (CSDCAS):
(1) Give an example of how your identities and/or experiences have prepared you to contribute and support cultural-linguistic equity within the field of SLP and to address systemic forms of discrimination (1500 characters max).
(2) Discuss your career goals and objectives (1500 characters max)

Transcript requirement
The official transcript from the CSDCAS application will satisfy the requirement, you do not need to request an additional copy to be sent to É«É«À².
Additional information
Prerequisites include:
- A grade point average of at least 3.00 in the last 60 credit hours of undergraduate study.
- Completion of an undergraduate major, or equivalent undergraduate course sequence, in Speech, Language & Hearing Sciences. The student who has not completed these requirements as an undergraduate will need to do so before enrolling in departmental graduate courses.
- Undergraduate preparation must include courses that provide information on basic human communication processes. There should be at least one course in phonetics, one course in speech and language development, and one course in the science of speech and hearing.
- Undergraduate preparation must also include coursework that provides basic information on speech, language, and hearing disorders.
- Completion of course work or transcript credit is required in each of the following areas: (a) biological science, (b) statistics, (c) physical sciences (physics or chemistry); and (d) behavioral sciences. The student who has not completed this course work as an undergraduate will need to do so as a graduate student in order to meet ASHA standards for clinical certification.
