Family Science Program Faculty Member Awarded New Writers Fellowship
May 29, 2014
Dr. Sherria Taylor, a Family Science Program faculty member, has been awarded a New Writers Fellowship from the Family Process Institute, which publishes Family Process, one of the top-tier journals in the field of couple and family therapy. The goal of the fellowship is to support the development of new scholars who will advance the field by publishing in Family Process and other family therapy journals. Fellows will participate in a full-day writing workshop taught by Dr. Evan Imber-Black, previous editor of Family Process and a well-published author. The purpose of the workshop is to help participants shape a developing manuscript for journal submission. Participants will receive both individual feedback on their work from Dr. Imber-Black and small group consultation. Fellows will also have the opportunity to meet the Family Process Institute Board of Directors. The fellowship includes free tuition and up to $700 for travel and 2 nights’ hotel for The Craft of Scholarly Writing in Family Therapy workshop, which she will attend in Philadelphia in April 2015.
