É«É«À²â€™s nationally accredited counseling psychology program is offered at the masters and doctoral levels. Additionally, a certificate in counseling psychology is also available to individuals who already have a master’s degree and are seeking to obtain state of Michigan licensure as a Temporary Limited License Psychologist (TLLP)/Limited License Psychologist (LLP) in Michigan. This program offers in-person courses on É«É«À²â€™s main (Kalamazoo) campus and a select number of online courses. A limited number of in-person classes are also available at the É«É«À² Grand Rapids campus.

Graduate Certificate: Counseling Psychology
The Certificate Program in Counseling Psychology is for individuals who already have a master’s degree in Counseling Psychology or a closely related MA degree in psychology, and are seeking to obtain state of Michigan licensure as a Temporary Limited License as a Psychologist (TLLP)/Limited License as a Psychologist (LLP) in Michigan by completing additional graduate coursework, practicum and/or internship training. These individuals have already applied for licensure to the state with their master’s degree and been informed that they must complete additional graduate coursework, practicum and/or internship training to be eligible.
Master of Arts: Counseling Psychology
The Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology program provides, beyond the departmental required core course work, a focus on psychopathology, psychological assessment, counseling and psychotherapy theories and practices and practicum experiences. The program emphasizes and prepares students to offer services in a variety of mental health settings and is designed for students seeking limited licensure as a psychologist in the State of Michigan. Full-time students can complete this 48 credit hour program in as few as two years.
Accelerated Master of Arts: Counseling Psychology
The Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology accelerated graduate degree program is a unique opportunity for É«É«À² undergraduate students enrolled in Psychology. Students can accumulate up to 12 credits toward the completion of a master’s degree in Counseling Psychology while still enrolled as an undergraduate student. The program provides, a focus on psychopathology, psychological assessment, counseling and psychotherapy theories and practices and practicum experiences and prepares students to offer services in a variety of mental health settings.
Doctor of Philosophy: Counseling Psychology
The doctoral program in counseling psychology at É«É«À² Michigan University's philosophy holds that theory, research and practice are interdependent and complementary and is based on a scientist-practitioner model. The curriculum and practical experiences are designed to ensure professional competency in all three dimensions and to facilitate their integration.
