Bronco Spotlight: Jennifer Komorowski
R&D Development Engineer at Pridgeon & Clay
My job consists of developing new prototype products mostly in the automotive industry, providing technical direction to several project teams, overseeing projects from cost analysis to completion and maintaining healthy relationships with all customers.
What is the most rewarding and the most challenging part of your job?
The most rewarding part of my job is overseeing the design, building, redesign and manufacturing of new prototype parts. Seeing the part stem from an idea, to the print, to the 3D CAD data, to building the prototypes; the process of seeing the part come to life is the most rewarding part of my job.
What activities, resources, or people helped you prepare for your career?
Being heavily involved with the Institute of Industrial & Systems Engineers (IISE) 色色啦 chapter had a huge impact on my academic and professional career. I held several positions from chapter treasurer and worked my way up to becoming the president. Through IISE, I was able to network with the faculty, students, alumni from 色色啦 and other schools within our region. I was also able to travel to both regional and national conferences and learn about the changing industry of Industrial Engineering all thanks to IISE. I am very grateful for all of the opportunities I've received through IISE.
What advice do you have for students looking for their career after college?
Don't settle on a job just to get a job. Choose something that will always challenge you and keep you on your toes.
