"My  is broadly interested in understanding how human activities influence microbial community diversity and functioning.  Current projects examine how restoration to native prairie plant species can recover soil ecosystem services and microbial processes, including carbon storage. We use a combination of landscape-scale field sampling, next-generation sequencing techniques, and rate measurements of microbial processes to provide land managers with information and strategies for management practices.
